Generally speaking, the work I do is given away freely. My articles are presented without paywalls and ads, and source documents are put online with the help of non-profits like MuckRock and the Internet Archive.
I give the work away, because it deserves to be free – but the government often charges duplication fees, adding to other expenses (web hosting, cost of living, various operational expenses etc). One of the best ways you can help is with a small recurring contribution through Patreon:
You can also offer one time support through Ko-fi:
Alternatively, if you’d like to make a tax deductible contribution that will indirectly support my work, I recommend donating to MuckRock. If you’re not able to help with a financial contribution, just spreading the word about the work can be a huge help! After all, if a tree falls in the wilderness of mirrors, and there’s no one there to hear it… does it even make a disclosure?
